Syddjurs municipality

As of January 1, 2007 Syddjurs municipality ("South Djursland") will, as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), come into existence as a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Denmark. It will consist of the (what are currently existing, but on January 1, 2007) former municipalities of Ebeltoft, Midtdjurs, Rosenholm, and Rønde municipalities. This will create a municipality with an area of 693 km² and a total population of 40,430 (2006). The new municipality will belong to the new Region Midtjylland ("Mid-Jutland Region").
