Gladiator: Sword Of Vengeance was a third-person shooter action game from Acclaim Entertainment. At the time many big third person action games like BloodRayne and Prince of Persia were enjoying major success. So Acclaim decided to join the genre with their own third person hack and slash action game Gladiator: Sword Of Vengeance. The game was a mild hit. In 2006 Canadian game publisher Throwback Entertainment acquired the publishing and development rights for the Gladiator franchise. ThrowBack has talked about making a new Gladiator game for the next-generation of game consoles though a specific system was not announced.
