It will help us to find & block that unfair affiliate & to clean your PC from harmful programs free of charge... This obviously needs looking at, and verifying/discounting. On http://spyaxe.net/testimonials.php, someone says: You guys are pretty darn good. Considering the fact that I've tried every software program on the market to remove the Smitfraud-C junk from my PC and registry. The fact that SpyAxe found it and couldn't do anything about it says something about your software and the support SpyAxe has given me. For the first time in ages, I think my PC is finally clean. Maybe a reputable anti-malware/anti-virus source is needed to cover whether SpyAxe - the adware or the trojan - actually contains the Smitfraud-C variant. Hey, I managed to get rid of this SpyAxe, for now, thanks to the Kaspersky antivirus program!!! I thought, if it is RUssian then RUssians should have the remedy! May all those who create malware and then sell us the antiviruses for $50 rot in hell! And this Russian Internet should be put under special surveillance, the world has had enough of them, I think!

Please, someone expand this article.... the only way i found to get rid of spyaxe virus is to re-store your computer to a pass date most self help groups ,don't help most or all are just asking for you to buy their spyware products ,more hands in my pockets err wallet rob

Please, If anyone knows a reliable method to get rid of this malware, please post it here!

[edit] Removing Spyaxe

I tried uninstalling, deleting the folder, and even using REGEDIT to find and delete all spyaxe references, all to no avail. Eventually I used WinXP's rollback to set my PC to an earlier time. That worked.

However I suggest anyone infected send the creators of spyaxe abusive emails to either- info@spyaxe.net, support@spyaxe.net, sales@spyaxe.net, webmaster@spyaxe.net,

Or even better to all of the above addresses, many, many times ;-)

The reason I've added the cleanup tags is as it is written in the wrong style; the Wikipedia is not a malware removal forum. The term 'unsuspecting computers' seems a little like POV. Computerjoe's talk 21:07, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I'm rather new to wikipedia, and am going to do a bit of work on this article. I'm going to work on it at User:TheJC/Malware/Spyaxe (where I've already re-phrased the first sentence). I've also made a proposal regarding a standardised infobox or seperate infoboxes for different types of malware (i.e.Spyware, Computer viruses, Adware, Trojans, Rootkits, etc.) - any suggestions/comments? I've cleaned up, rephrased, and added content to this article. I've removed the cleanup tag as I believe I've covered everything that was the original problem with the article and reasons for the cleanup tag. I like how the citations look. Though I don't think that using another wiki(castlecops) is a reliable source under Wikipedia guidelines. --RainR 23:20, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

I've removed SpyAxe is a varient of the Smitfraud group of rogue antispyware programs.^{[citation needed]} as I cannot find a reputable source, and http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/smitfraud_c.shtml differs from the common installation of SpyAxe. I'm cleaning up this article a bit...I've updated the removal section to reflect the most current tools used. I'm also removing the unsourced claim about potential credit card fraud as PSBill is a legitimate credit card processor and the identity theft warning has no specific relationship to SpyAxe. 68.40.58.147 04:56, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
