Sonar Kella (Bengali: সোনার কেল্লা), also Shonar Kella (The Golden Fortress) is a 1974 film by Bengali director Satyajit Ray, featuring the actors Soumitra Chatterjee, Santosh Dutta, Siddartha Chatterjee, Kusal Chakravarty among others.
Satyajit Ray first wrote the mystery novel Sonar Kella with Feluda as the detective.Later,the novel was made into a film in the same name by the director.

[edit] Plot Summary
Mukul (Kusal Chakravarty), a young boy, is being haunted by memories of his previous life. He stays up late into the night and makes drawings that he claims to have seen. His father decides to take him to Dr. Hajra (Sailen Mukherjee), a parapsychologist, for treatment. On studying some drawings by Mukul that represent scenes from the past, Dr. Hajra concludes that the drawings of the child Mukul represent scenes from a former life. It emerges that everything had taken place in a fortress, where the boy's father had worked as a gem cutter. After studying the drawings Dr. Hazra believes that a fortress in the drawings may be in Rajasthan. Dr. Hajra decides to take Mukul on a trip to Rajasthan in the hope that it might be a cure.
A newspaper report on the drawings of Mukul and an interview with Dr. Hajra alerts Amiyanath Burman (Ajoy Banerjee) and Mandar Bose (Kamu Mukherjee). They plan to kidnap Mukul in hope of getting their hands on the treasure that Mukul talked of in the interview. Their first attempt at the kidnapping fails when they pick up another boy, also named Mukul (Santanu Bagchi), from the same neighborhood.
Alarmed by the failed kidnapping of his son, Mukul's father engages the service of Feluda (Soumitra Chatterjee) to help protect his son. Feluda accepts the assignment and leaves for Rajasthan along with Topshe (Siddartha Chatterjee). On the way to Rajasthan Feluda and Topshe meet Lalmohan Ganguly, a.k.a. Jatayu (Santosh Dutta), for the first time.
Meanwhile, Burman and Bose attempt to kill Dr. Hajra and kidnap Mukul, with Burman impersonating as Dr. Hajra. What follows is a chase in the desert with Feluda successfully saving Mukul from the clutches of Burman and Bose.
