Seton Hall University School of Law

The Seton Hall University School of Law is part of Seton Hall University, the Catholic University of New Jersey, and is located in downtown Newark. Seton Hall Law School is one of only three Law schools in New Jersey (the others being the two locations of Rutgers University's law schools) and is the only private law school in the state.
Its location is very convenient to commuters, as it is 1.5 blocks from Penn Station Newark and a 20 minute ride to Manhattan.
Seton Hall Law School is noted as having the highest bar passage rates in New Jersey in recent years[verification needed]. As such, it was recently ranked the second highest in the state by U.S. News & World Report's Annual Ranking, rising 13 spots from 83rd to a tie for 70th among all ABA-approved law schools in the nation[1].

Seton Hall University School of Law was founded in 1954 and was fully accredited by the American Bar Association in 1955. The school is part of Seton Hall University.

The J.D. degree program of 85 credits can be pursued as a day student in 3 years or as a part-time evening student in 4 years.

Many students commute from around the New York metropolitan area; however, the Union Building, Renaissance Towers, and 1180 all house Seton Hall Law students.
The current 1L class, the class of 2009, has 365 students. They come from all over the world and are of many races, religions, faiths, and backgrounds.
