The Senate (Senado) is the upper house of the Dominican Republic's bicameral National Congress. The lower house is the Chamber of Deputies.
It currently comprises 32 senators who are elected for four-year terms. Congressional elections are held in even numbered years not divisible by four, when the entire Chamber and Senate are replaced.
