Samburu District

Samburu District, Rift Valley Province, Kenya is an area of roughly 8000 square miles (21,000 kmĀ²) in northern Kenya where the Samburu tribe live. It stretches north from the Wuaso Ng'iro River to the south of Lake Turkana and also includes Mount Kulal which lies just east of Lake Turkana.
Within Samburu district are the towns of Maralal (capital), Baragoi, Archers Post, South Horr, Wamba and Lodosoit.
The district has two local authorities: Maralal town council and Samburu county council. The district has two constituencies: Samburu East and Samburu West.
Samburu district is divided into six administrative divisions: Baragoi, Lorroki, Maralal (Kirisia), Nyiro, Wamba and Waso.
It also includes the Samburu National Reserve and Buffalo Springs National Reserve, Mount Ng'iro, Ndoro Mountains, Ol Doinyo Lenkiyieu (Mathews Range), Kirisia Hills, and Loroki Forest.
