Samantha Wildman

Ensign Samantha Wildman is a fictional character in the Star Trek universe, played by actress Nancy Hower. Samantha joined the USS Voyager starship not knowing she was pregnant with Naomi Wildman, by her husband Greskrendtregk. She gave birth to Naomi in 2372 and chose Neelix as her godfather. Samantha's duties aboard Voyager are as a xenobiologist.
The character was based upon a real person, a little girl who died in an accident. The real Samantha's organs were transplanted into the ailing wife of Voyager episode writer Jimmy Diggs, who gratefully named a character after the girl.
