[edit] The Vision of the Rockford Master's Commission
- The Rockford Master's Commission was founded in 1993 by Jeremy DeWeerdt in Rockford, IL. It is a 9 month long program dedicated to providing an environment of discipleship where strong leadership skills, moral character, integrity, personal gift mixes, life direction, and core biblical values, are developed. The Rockford Masters Commission is an organization that wants to make a difference in the world and encourages students not to live mediocre, self-centered lives, but rather to go out and make a difference in their world by doing everything to the best of their ability. Whether students choose to be businessmen, lawyers, doctors, or ministers, all Rockford Masters Commission alumni have one thing in common: doing all things with excellence.

The Rockford Master's Commission believes in providing students with an outlet for their Christianity. They do this in several ways:
[edit] Prayer:
The Rockford Master's Commission is dedicated is seeing a strong relationship with God developed in it's students. RMC accomplishes this by giving students an hour at the beginning of each day that can be devoted to Prayer and connection to God.
[edit] Servant hood:
Servant hood is one of the many values the Rockford Master's Commission heavily emphasizes. Jesus Himself came not for himself but to serve others. There are many opportunities within the Rockford Master's Commission for students to be able to serve. Whether they will be running a conference, leading worship, running an outreach, serving at a homeless shelter, or sending out a mailer, students of the Rockford Master's Commission will be able to serve in many different projects during their nine-month stay.

Every single year the Rockford Master's Commission sends students all over the world. One of the Rockford Master's Commission's core values is that students get a much broader understanding of the world around them. They do this by giving every single student the opportunity to choose a Missions trip each year. Swaziland Africa, Vienna Austria, Los Angeles, Guadalajara Mexico, Sydney Australia, and Sri Lanka, are just some of the many places they have gone in the last 15 years. [edit] Ministry Training:
The Rockford Master's Commission is focused on training up individuals to enter into all facets of ministry. RMC has a tightly-nit relationship with many different types of ministries in their church that include: children's ministry, young-adult ministry, youth ministry, seniors ministry, college ministry, social justice ministry, missions, evangelism, and family ministry. They believe strongly in being a part of the body of Christ and give students many opportunities to do so.

RMC believes in doing all things with excellence. One of the most obvious places this core value is portrayed is within the Rockford Master's Commission Media department. Aaron Campbell leads the Rockford Master's Commission media team. Because media is such an influential part of modern culture, the Rockford Master's Commission uses media to advance God's Kingdom within the world around us. The media department is made up mainly of students and their goal is to provide an environment where students can learn to edit videos, use Photoshop/illustrator to design professional quality graphics, design web pages, and create high-quality publications. Whether students are experts in these fields or they are looking to learn, the RMC media department is one of the best creative teams in the nation. [edit] Church and Business Operations:
RMC understands that not everyone is called into full-time vocational ministry. In the past two years they have made an effort to become a church-wide ministry. They decided not only to be involved in youth ministry and ministry within the Rockford Master's Commission, but made an effort to give students a wider variety learning opportunities. One way that this was done was their decision to partner with the operational side of the church. Their home church of Rockford First Assembly has over 400 employees, a radio station, 6 nursing homes, and a multi-million dollar budget. Rockford First Assemblies infrastructure is comparable to that of a mega-corporation. Whether students are looking to understand more about how a business is ran or whether they want to learn how a church operates, The Rockford Master's Commission's partnership with the Rockford First Assembly operational department will give them an opportunity to do this.
[edit] Music and Worship:
The Rockford Master's Commission music and worship team is under the leadership of Nina Daniels and is made up primarily of students. They are dedicated to creating and playing top-quality music and worship. Over the years the Rockford Master's Commission has professionally produced 3 different CDs, which you can view here. The RMC worship department's goal is to provide an outlet for musically talented students to use and develop their giftings.
[edit] Ministry Practicum:
Ministry practicum is led by Talitha Norphy and gives students the opportunity for social service in the community of Rockford. Students will actively participate in different social service sectors such as: incarcerated and rehabilitation, homeless and street life, urban and under resourced children and youth, and octogenarian.
[edit] Community and National Volunteerism:
In today's world it is very important for ministries and other organizations to actively participate in the community and in our nation. The Rockford Master's Commission volunteerism effort is under the leadership of Lori Seaberg and gives students and opportunity to actively participate in their community and nation. Some of the ways the Rockford Master's Commission have done this are:
- RMC Sent 130 Students to Aid in the Gulf Coast hurricane relief effort in 2005 and also in 2006.
- Earthbeat: The Rockford Master's Commission plays a major role in a national initiative called Earthbeat. Every single year thousands of community service hours are donated for large-scale citywide cleanup projects.
- Volunteering in areas of our community which are made up of underprivileged children. Some examples are Orton Keyes and the Homeless shelter where they serve on a weekly basis.

The Rockford Master's Commission creative communications department is ran by Gabriel Ellis. RMC is committed to putting out cutting-edge creative communications that take many different forms. Some examples are human videos, stomp, skits, and dramas. The Rockford Master's Commission is consistently working to create above-par ways to creatively communicate the Gospel. Students of RMC have a very active role in this department of the Rockford Master's commission. The Rockford Master's Commission creative communication teams have been a part of a countless amount of churches, conventions, and retreats throughout the entire world.
