It is something I learned in high school when I was on the yearbook staff...have faces or eyes pointing inward...i don't know why it looks better, but it does :) keep up the nice work in wikipedia! Kingturtle 17:23 19 May 2003 (UTC)

Could you take a look at Image talk:Marthastewart-1.jpg? I don't know if this is something where your browser is acting different than mine, or if the upload went bad. -- John Owens 06:46 20 May 2003 (UTC)

Dang, I still get the 64 byte, 4x4 picture at Image:Marthastewart-1.jpg. At this point, given that the page itself says it's 18K, and it only gives 64B, I'd be pretty sure it's some technical issue, so I'll ask around with the techy people. -- John Owens 15:50 22 May 2003 (UTC)

Just wondering if your statement "personal photo" on the Martha Stewart-1.jpg page means that you took the photo and you are releasing it under the GPDL. It is not clear. — Alex756 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Alex756 talk] 19:42, 6 Mar 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Laffer pic

Thanks for uploading Image:Arthurlaffer-1.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 17:16, Oct 22, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Unverified images

Hi! Thanks for uploading the following image:

I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GNU Free Documentation License, {{PD-self}} if you wish to release your own work to the public domain, {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know at my talk page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much. [[User:Poccil|Peter O. (Talk, automation script)]] 23:01, Dec 20, 2004 (UTC)

P.S. You can help tag other images at User:Yann/Untagged_Images. Thanks again.

Found another image that you uploaded that hasn't been tagged:

  • Image:Marthastewart-1.jpg

I tagged it as PUI right now, it looks like it could be a photo from a book signing or something. If you could just note the copyright status for it that would be great. --Wgfinley 16:25, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image:1969judge.jpg

[edit] Image source/licensing for Image:Bisque-1.jpg

The image you uploaded, Image:Bisque-1.jpg, has no no source information. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Unless the copyright status is provided, the image will be marked for deletion on 24 October 2005.

This message notification has been automatically sent by NotificationBot managed and run by AllyUnion. Please leave comments regarding bot operations at AllyUnion's talk page. Please direct all comments regarding licensing information at Wikipedia talk:Images for deletion. --NotificationBot 12:32, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Benchmark-usgs.jpg

Hi! I was looking at this image of a triangulation station marker disk that you uploaded in 2003 and I noticed that someone has added the {{coatofarms}} tag to the image. This seems like an incorrect tag, so I was wondering if you took the photograph. If you did take it are you prepared to license it under the GFDL? If so, then the tag can be changed to {{GFDL}}. Thanks, JeremyA 02:25, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Comments should go on the talk page, not in the article

With regards to your edit at Lobsang Rampa please state your comments at the article's talk page, not in the article. Thanks. You can also revert yourself, but please explain your revert on the talk page. Thanks. Andries 22:00, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] USS Robert F. Keller (DE-419)

If you want to write an article about your namesake ship, you should write an actual article, not a one-sentence stub.

Start here:

The last two are from the official (and public domain) Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships (DANFS) write-up, and are the text source for all US Navy ship articles on Wikipedia, near as I can tell. But, as the DANFS article entry says, "Since the Dictionary limits itself to the bare facts, it includes almost no analysis or historical context." Major battles get as much space and emphasis as who whacked the ship's prow with a champagne bottle at launching, so these texts always need rewriting in addition to wikification.

Have at it, and see other ship entries (such as USS Enterprise (CV-6), USS Trout (SS-202), and USS Ralph Talbot (DD-390)) for models. Good luck. --Calton | Talk 00:22, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:SacheenLittlefeather.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:SacheenLittlefeather.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. meco 13:30, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Armando Lloréns-Sar

Sorry to bother you, but would you please review the ongoing debate at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Armando Lloréns-Sar (2nd nomination) ? There are some pretty strange accusations being made, some of which parallel the CGM case, to a degree. Silensor 06:06, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Got you message on the article's deletion request. Read them both. Can you point me to an archive of the Wikipedia article that's causing the hubbub? WikiTruth? That would help. As far as I can tell, the guy has the following qualities: 1) He's a left Democrat (USA), 2) Some say he's a "very popular or top blogger" but I'm having trouble finding evidence of his superior blog status, 3) he was outed recentlywith much fanfare (for a blogger), 4) he's a Walmart attorney. I'm inclined to keep if I could see the original piece and read more of his bloggings. [Feel free to zap this section] --Robertkeller 16:51, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
From what I can tell, he is (or at this point possibly "was") a notable blogger who often filled in for Markos Moulitsas Zúniga and has been interviewed by NPR, The New Republic, and National Review, The Majority Report, and other various media outlets. In my humble opinion, he meets the "professionals whose work is widely recognized (for better or worse) and who are likely to become a part of the enduring historical record of that field" portion of WP:BIO, but not everyone agrees with that. It would be nice if we had a specific guideline tailored for those in Category:Bloggers, but in any case there is a strong likelihood people will turn to Wikipedia for this information, and WP:N is just an essay. Silensor 18:05, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about that, you were looking for some of the earlier posts by Armando, those are available here, WikiTruth has not posted anything about this as far as I know. Silensor 18:16, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
