Reggie McNeal (born September 20, 1983) was quarterback for Texas A&M from 2002-2005. Reggie was ranked as the number one athlete prospect coming out of high school and, as a freshman substitute quarterback, successfully led the unranked Texas A&M Aggies to an upset win over the first-ranked Oklahoma Sooners in 2002. In his sophomore and junior years he was heralded as "the most complete dual-threat quarterback in the nation" by ESPN.^[1] His performance against Oklahoma in 2002 led many to feel that good times, including a possible national championship, were ahead for Texas A&M University.

In his senior season, Texas A&M earned a 5-6 record and was not invited to a college bowl game. McNeal's final game at Texas A&M was at home against The University of Texas on November 23, 2005, but McNeal did not play during this game due to injury. The aggies lost 40-29. This poor season and inconsistent play by McNeal lead to a declining stock during his senior season.

During McNeal's four-year career at Texas A&M, the Aggies were 0-4 against rival Texas, 0-2 against Viginia Tech, 0-2 against Nebraska, 1-3 against Texas Tech, 1-3 against Oklahoma, 3-1 against Baylor, and played only one post season game when they were invited to the Cotton Bowl after the 2004 season where they lost to Tennessee.^[2]

Fans who defended McNeal's career pointed to the difficult environment at Texas A&M as a significant factor. While at Texas A&M, McNeal played under two philosophically different head coaches, three offensive coordinators, and several different position coaches. Others insisted other talent surrounding McNeal was underdeveloped and did not support McNeal's full potential.

Reggie was picked by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 6th round of the 2006 NFL Draft as a wide receiver.
