Prison Bound (song)

Prison Bound is a punk song from the 1988 Social Distortion album Prison Bound. The song can also be heard live on the 1998 album Live at the Roxy.
The first stanza tells how the singer had commited a crime and was now "going to a place where the tough guys go, they come out even tougher." He goes on to tell how hard prison is, and that it's a "place where a man don't show his feelings, a place where a man don't cry." He warns of how he will return someday. The second stanza continues on how how cold and painful it is, making a reference to Johnny Cash's song "Walk the Line." He laments how he continually fails to learn and to fix his life.
The chorus reads:
"Oh, I'm prisonbound I did a crime one too many times It's on the outskirts of town By the railroad tracks Where the country moon shines. Oh, I'm prisonbound Tell my girl I'll be back one day. Oh, I'm prisonbound I may never know another way."
