Prévost, Quebec

Prévost, Quebec is a small town within the La Rivière-du-Nord Regional County Municipality, Quebec and the administrative region of Laurentides in the Laurentian mountains about 40 minutes north of Montreal.
Its latitude and longitude are 45° 52' N, 74° 05' W.
It is known for its cross-country skiing and for the Shawbridge Boys' Farm, a youth detention centre operated by Batshaw Youth Services.
The town was formerly known as Shawbridge.
Police services are provided by the Sûreté du Québec, which also serves Piedmont and some other communities in the Laurentians.
This town is increasingly known as a harbinger for companies that specialize in unsolicited email advsertising, i.e. SPAM companies.
