Pennsylvania Route 97 is one of two Pennsylvania Route 97s, the other one is in Adams County, PA. It's 26 miles long. Its southern termini is Pennsylvania Route 8 in Union City, PA and its northern termini is Pennsylvania Route 8 in Erie, PA.

PA Route 97 starts in Union City, PA at an intersection with Pennsylvania Route 8. Then it heads west for about 10 miles without meeting another route. Then in Waterford, PA it merges with U.S. Route 19 for about a mile. Then it heads north towards Erie, PA as the Perry Highway. Then just outside of Erie it makes an interchange with Interstate 90. Then near Erie it meets with Pennsylvania Route 505. Then in Erie it ends at an intersection with Pennsylvania Route 8 which is Pine Avenue.
