- Seeing as I'm a fairly new member (at the moment of course), I suppose it is only right that my first attempt (and subsequent failure) at editing a page should be my own. Therefore, I will start off with a small -but terribly fascinating- biography on myself.
[edit] Origin of the Name
- I have taken my choice of character, if you will, straight from the pages of T.H. White's The Once and Future King (an excellant book, I give it my highest recommendations). As any fan of that book no doubt knows, King Pellinore is a rather hopeless knight who has dedicated his life to hunting down the mythological Questing Beast... without much luck. However, he is hopelessly dedicated to this quest of his, and with a shout of "Yoicks, what!" will charge off at the mere mention of his Beast Glatisant.
- Perhaps I identify myself to some degree with this strange fellow, one with admirable intentions and grand goals, but sadly lacking the skills to carry out either. Ever he tries, and ever he fails, but he seems to have a good time with it along the way. Consider that your brief insight into the mind of this new Wikipedia User.
[edit] Interests
- Hmm, this is a section which could go on for quite awhile. However, in my attempt to keep this short and simple, I will generalize (to a painful extent for me) my area of interests simply to the humanities. A list of my top areas of study are as follows:
- History -I have sadly limited knowledge in the field, but find it of great interest.
- Literature -Basically the same situation as the afore-mentioned "history interest".
- Religion -I study them mostly from a historical viewpoint, but also am interested in the nature of the beliefs themselves.
- Mythology -Arguably this could be included with religion, but I didn't see a problem with giving the area its own heading regardless.
- Philosophy -A budding interest, I have little to show of it thus far (except for the knowledge that the letters in "Aristotle" can be rearranged to spell "tater silo"- my gratitude to Dave Barry for that one).
[edit] Parting Note
- When on Wikipedia, you'll see me rarely and hear from me even less. This is due mostly to the fact that I have very little to contribute to the already-extensive Wikipedia files (indeed, a great amount of my knowledge on various areas has come from this site). However, I'll pop up here and there, and should I find something of sufficient interest to me you might just hear a faint "Yoicks, what!" as I go charging off in God-knows-what direction (most likely the wrong one) in search of more complete answers and reliable information. Who knows? Perhaps I'll even return triumphant with some useless baggage of trivia tucked under my arm that I can proudly display on the article as my trophy.
