Parker T. Williamson

Parker T. Williamson is the founding editor, and now editor emeritus, of the Presbyterian Layman magazine. A minister of the Presbyterian Church (USA), Williamson has been a long-time advocate for splitting the denomination and forming a new church. Many speculate that it has been his desire to be the head of this new denomination.
The Committee on Ministry (COM) of the Presbytery of Western North Carolina voted on December 9, 2003 to withdraw its validation of the ministry of the Rev. Parker T. Williamson. This harsh action against Williamson was prompted by years of his writings against the church, including calling former Presbyterian Moderator Syngman Rhee, one of the most respected Korean leaders in the denomination, a Communist.
His publications include two books: Essays from Zimbabwe, published in 1999; and Standing firm: Reclaiming Christian faith in times of controversy, published 1996.
