Overlinking

Overlinking in a webpage or another hyperlinked text is the characteristic of having too many hyperlinks.[1]
It is characterised by:
- A large proportion of the words in each sentence being rendered as links.
- Links that have little or nothing to do with the subject of the sentence.
A reason for overlinking is that writers will often believe that the text is improved by any addition of links, while others see some links to be useless, resulting in the useful links being less prominent.
The opposite of overlinking is "null linking," a phenomena where links are reduced so far, or infact taken out all together, removing links to the context of the page or sentence.[1]
