CNBC's '"On the Money", hosted by Dylan Ratigan (except on days when Fast Money is broadcast, when it is hosted by Scott Wapner), is a television program (airing at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET every weeknight) that deals with the money involved in the news. On the Money wraps up the day's news from the worlds of business and everyday life, taking a closer look at the money in every story. On the Money literally follows the money through everything from breaking news to politics, to pop culture, and even sports.
Each night, "The Insiders" -- experts and newsmakers alike -- will explain to the viewers what's really happening in each story. Also, "The CNBC Task Force" shows viewers what they need to know about major stories affecting them. And every night, "The Ticker" wraps up the other news of the day.
On the Money premiered as "Hurricane Katrina: Crisis and Recovery" (which was hosted by Bill Griffeth) on August 29, 2005, replacing reruns of Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Five weeks later (October 3, 2005), the show rechristened as On the Money. Ratigan, who previously hosted Bullseye (which ended its run on March 11 of that year), was given the hosting duties for the latter as well.
Also of note: When "Hurricane Katrina: Crisis and Recovery" rechristened as On the Money on October 3, 2005, Ratigan said at the end of the opening title, "It's 7 o'clock on Wall Street. Do you know where your money is?" Since CNBC began re-airing the show at 11pm ET on June 8, 2006, it was changed to "It's prime time on Wall Street. Do you know where your money is?"
On July 10, 2006, On the Money debuted a new look, which included the program's new logo, a new set, and new graphics. The graphics redesign package was designed by Gary Keenan and animated by Felix Thoo of Creative Group, a post production house in midtown New York.

On the Money is also broadcast at 12:00pm Singapore/Hong Kong time on CNBC Asia. Unlike the US (where it is first broadcast live at 7:00pm ET), the program is seen on a tape delay.

In May of 2006, a new "Fast Money" segment debuted. The following month (June 21, 2006), Fast Money (which spun off as a segment from On the Money) debuted as a weekly television series, with Dylan Ratigan also serving as host. Fast Money is currently "bouncing around" timeslots as the network finds a suitable home for the program. As a result of his hosting duties on this weekly show, Ratigan does not host OTM on the days he hosts Fast Money.
