An art director and production designer currently working in children's television and teaching film studies. He lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The username comes from several years back when he was one of the designers of a notorious sci-fi series by the name of LEXX. The show's producers had assigned him the unpaid but nevertheless enjoyable task of providing anonymous "insider" stories and "commentary" on the various IRC chat rooms that sprang up rapidly after the show was first broadcast in 1996.
OldCommentator is also a passionate believer in open source and gladly donates $5 per month to the Wikipedia Foundation. He encourages others to contribute what they can.
He speaks of himself in the third person for no apparent reason.
