Obiefule Ezeadi (pronounciation: Oh-bee-eh-fuel-lay), commonly known as Obes (pronounced: Lobes, without the L sound),is an American entrepenuer and renown author of several short stories and poetry. His writing is most famous for authoring such storties as "Beautiful Day", and the nationally-renown "The Escape". In 2005, Obes completed the sequel to "Beautiful Day", entitled "Another Beautiful Day: Smoke without Fire". The sequel was highly anticipated and marked the first time his writings gained popular attention and national acceptance of his 'literary brilliance'.
Other than his writing, Obes is known for being an avid "hip-hopper" and is frequently seen at MC and B-boy battles in New Jersey and New York. He has been reportedly tied to several different businesses and is rumoured to having former mob and gang associates. Known characteristics of Obiefule are his style of clothes, slick attitude, harsh humor and "cool" demeanor. He has also been accredited for his emotional side, including his hot temper, romantic gestures, and unorthodox spontaneity. His eclectic tastes of cultures, music, food, and women has been known to some as truly an unparalled phenom, and to others as merely an arrogant, disrespectful "playboy". He currently attends Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
== BIOGRAPHY ==
[edit] EARLY LIFE
Obiefule's parents moved frequently when he was a child, residing in a number of locations throughout the United States and Nigeria, including Nebraska, New Jersey, California, Owerri, and Lagos. His mother, Edna, is owner of Kelob Children's Academy, and a Ezeadi Realty. His father, is a wealthy politician in the Nigerian government, and currently resides there.
Even as a child, Obiefule was a young entrepreneur. He attended Jamas Children's Academy, and quickly gained the respect of his peers hustling items in exchange for candy and soda. During his attendance at the Academy, he gained close friends, whom he remembers as Aaliyah, Ross, and Naia. As the years passed, he grew very fond of Naia, but was heartbroken when a kid named Kevin won her affection. Obiefule, Aaliyah, and Ross seemed inseperable until his mother travelled with him to Nigeria by the ending of the third grade. She wanted him to gain a deeper knowledge of his homeland cultures and ways, so Obiefule spent a year in Nigeria.
In Owerri, he began the 4th grade there at F.U.T.O Academy. He had one teacher for all subjects during at time, and fell victim to harsh discrimination from students and teacher alike. They disrespected him because he was from "America" and envied his family's status. The event that stands out in Obiefule's mind during that period, was when the class was asked to recite the Ibo alphabet. Ibo, one of Nigeria's national languages, was unknown to him, and when it was his turn to recite the alphabet in front of the teacher, she swung at his open palms several times with a giant wooden stick everytime he didnt know a letter or incorrectly pronounced it. She did this to the entire class, and Obiefule eventually got the teacher fired after reporting the incident to his father.
By the ending of 1993, Obiefule was to return back home to New Jersey, and was placed on an airplane by himself, to meet up with his mother waiting in New York. While unaccompanied on the airplane, he vomited several times from fear, solitude, and harsh conditions in the air. After he landed and met with his mother, the whole experience with Nigeria and the airplane made him stronger and more independent. He also gained knowledge of other cultures and practices and felt grateful for the experience, disregarding his fourth grade teacher (whom, ironically, became the victim of her own actions).
Obiefule completed grades 5 through 8 in his first experience with public schools. He attended 5th grade at Stockton Elementary, and grades 6 through 8 at Sojourner Truth Middle School. Both schools were located in East Orange, New Jersey.
Disconnected from his previous close friends (whom he has never seen again), and readusting back to the American education system, the fifth grade was a tough year. He became best friends with a boy, Julian, whom he later fought with that same year in a schoolyard brawl on the field. The boy had believed that Obiefule had kissed his girlfriend behind his back, which Obiefule now admits to have done, and approached Obiefule in the schoolyard during lunch break. Julian, along with 3 other taller kids, walked up to Obes to and question him about the situation. After denying the accusation, Obes was brutally punched in his stomach several times and smacked in his face. Obes returned back to his home that night, and didnt report the incident to his mother. Instead, he went back to school the next day, gathered about 5 or 6 other kids that he was friends with and went up to Julian during lunch time. Signalling the other kids to wait, Obiefule went up to Julian (who was alone at the time) and threw a viscious punch to his face. Julian fell, and Obes signalled the other kids to "go crazy on him", which they did and left Julian a "bloody mess" on the ground, as the bell signalling the ending of lunch rang. Obiefule returned to his next class with a happy face and demeanor, and there, the seed of power and leadership grew in him. On an added note, Julian never reported Obes and was seen by him several years later with the recognizable scars on his face.
During middle school, Obiefule began to pay closer attention to schoolwork and excelled in all categories of it. Besides his highly acclaimed performance as a member of the school choir that sang the song "A whole new World" to the school, he was also the recepient of several "highest" Honor Roll awards. During this time he achieved the bulk of his academic accomplishments. In a science fair, Obes decided to join and he was the first person in the school's history to create a virtual farm, no bigger than the size of a table, complete with small people harvesting and a list of several different real crops growing in the fields. The project was unprecedented at the time, and teachers were astounded by the creativity of such a young lad. The science fair boosted Obiefule's confidence and led to his placement of higher level courses during the sevength and eighth grades.
Another well-known story of Obiefule's past was the fight he had during 7th grade. Obes and his best friend at the time, Michael, were not part of the "social elite" at this time, due to their exceptional grades and under-par looks. Michael wasn't pleased of this so he began to "suck up" to the more popular kids, and was given directions to fight Obes if Michael wanted to be in their group. During lunch time, a hesitant Michael, approached Obes and shoved him in his seat. Obes, confused, ignored him and told him to go away. Michael, feeling disrespected, and being cheered on by the popular kids, came up behind Obes and shoved him to the ground from his seat. At this time, the entire lunchroom (located on top of the roof) stood up and surrounded the two. As Obes stood up, Michael shoved him to the ground again. Obes finally lost his temper and stood up in a rage. He pulled Michael (a very skinny, "nerdy" kid) up with one hand, and threw several punches, before a final blow that knocked Michael's glasses out the adjacent window onto the roof. Michael, who could barely see without his glasses, searched around frantically for them as all the children mocked and threw food at him (including open milk). The glasses were too far onto the roof for any one child to reach, and a janitor had to be called in to retrieve them with a long stick. The incident left the milk-soaked Michael sitting on the ground, temporarily blinded, and reputatively ruined. This image, of the "back-stabber" Michael, pleased Obes and ironically gained Obes, rather than Michael, acceptance of the popular group (although Obes turned down their friendship, out of apathy).
During the eighth grade, he began to explore the world of women more intensely. He engaged in several short-term relationships with girls, whom he used as "toys of experimentation". Although he never had sex with any of them, he currently says that the 8th grade was when he learned the most of not only acquiring, but collecting women. A "playboy" was born.
High School
During his freshman and sophomore years, Obes focused extremely on his grades. Various deaths in his family and encouragement from his mother gave him the drive to excel in all of his classes and he received several academic awards. His Junior
