While Johnson died in 1959, the copyright law of Canada at the time of his death states that works are protected for 50 years after it's creation. The song was recorded in 1928, well before the cut-off date of December 31, 1948. [1]. Copyrights aside, the version sung here is the original poem by Weir. With some modifications, this is the current English-anthem of Canada. The 2nd verse is also included.
