[edit] Public domain

The GNAA have released that logo into the public domain. - Ta bu shi da yu 06:12, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I am in the process of doing much better than that. I'm getting them to put a license on their website. Good enough for ya? - Ta bu shi da yu 06:19, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)
I bother because we write from a neutral point of view, we don't censor viewpoints (though we self censor certain images) and we research articles properly, or not at all. I may find the GNAA offensive, but that does not give me the right to contribute to that page with an anti-GNAA POV! Imagine if I did this to the Hitler or Holocaust denial? Do you think we would have a factual, neutral article that people can trust to give them the facts coloured by original thoughts and opinions? I don't think so. So that's why I edit that article to the best of my ability. Besides, think about it. If someone sees a GNAA attack and wants to find out about them, they can visit our site and it will explain the organisation to them. We then become a trusted source for material. We can only win on this one. - Ta bu shi da yu 07:27, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)
I'm chilled, just forthright :-) I think I've made my point... Ta bu shi da yu 01:00, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] NIV

Please stop removing the NIV passages. They clearly fall under fairuse. They also match the NIV's own copyright requirements that states that "the NIV text may be quoted in any form (written, visual, electronic or audio), up to and inclusive of five hundred (500) verses without express written permission of the publisher, providing the verses do not amount to a complete book of the Bible nor do the verses quoted account for twenty-five percent (25%) or more of the total text of the work in which they are quoted." - SimonP 16:08, Mar 7, 2005 (UTC)

You are correct that we cannot do the entire project with the NIV. In the long term we should make sure we don't only use one modern translation, but vary through several. It is important, however, to have a modern translation. Several of the articles discuss the differences between KJV and modern translations. Also any old version contains too many inaccuracies for a scholarly analysis. I do not know much about the WEB, but it may be good enough. Since we can use the NIV for some of the project I see no reason not to. - SimonP 01:25, Mar 8, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Heliotropism

Thanks for your comment, I expected someone to redirect it. Often when I launch a stub it comes to the attention of someone who knows of an appropriate place for it and this is the quickest way to deal with it. The trouble is that Wiki's cross referencing seems to be very picky, you have to guess the exact title to get the article, small/large letters, hyphens, spaces, plurals all throw it off the scent. Actually I though it was more suitable for Wiktionary, whatever! Cheers ping 08:30, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Philadelphia Project

Hi i have noticed that you have edited several articles on subjects related to the Philadelphia area. Several other users and myself have got together to creak a project to help improve, expand, and create articles concerning the Philadelphia/Delaware Valley region. While our project is still new, we are inviting people to join us to help it get started off on the right foot. You can find the project at Wikipedia:WikiProject Philadelphia, feel free to add your name and drop off an suggestions that you might have. If you have any questions, drop me a line anytime. [edit] NIV v. WEB

Using the WEB as a standard is a good idea, because it is free. Theologically, however, it is a hundred years out of date. With a verse such as Matthew 2:1, having two older versions presents an interpretation that is at variance with virtually all modern scholars. - SimonP 06:44, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

The important difference between the WEB and NIV is the use of the phrase "wise men," which is discussed in the article. - SimonP 14:55, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Robida

Thank you for the response. I see your point there that a pic is needed. In my opinion the photo is quite disturbing and the word "fascinated" carries a positive connotation. Perhaps Robida was more "influenced by the so-called Neo-Nazi ideology." Gilliamjf 07:16, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

That appears to be a fair solution. Maybe I'll add "obsessed" to the caption tomorrow. Take care. Gilliamjf 07:40, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jacob Robia

Look I am not vandalizing anything. So wikipedia just buys any old photo from somebody and puts it on as fact? That it is real! Go read some of the articles of case in the Boston Globe. They didn't find any nazi flag in his bedroom. Nazi literature is not a nazi flag. The image surfaced from some queer-apologist, who reads their messed up site. Clearly the site bought it hook line and sinker, and feels it's real. Why does wikipedia have to be the same way, when the image was not released in any reputable news agency? (The preceeding post made by User:TripleH1976).

[edit] Cuban Tree Frog

Hi Nathan,

You recently moved the Cuban Tree Frog article to "Cuban tree frog", for reasons of capitalisation conventions. The capitalisation conventions for animal common names are pretty loose, but it is pretty common for frogs to have complete capitalisation. This is to stop ambiguity. When you write tree frog, as a group, you do not capitalise. So, if you write "Cuban tree frog" in an article, how do you know whether one is referring to a tree frog from Cuba, or a specific species (Cuban Tree Frog)? A lot of animals do not have this problem, but when it comes to frogs, the common names tend to be descriptive. --liquidGhoul 04:08, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

I also found it odd looking to start off with, but it makes more sense in respect to ambiguity, so I changed my mind on it. Thanks --liquidGhoul 04:21, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Subst:

Hello, NTK.

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template.

Thanks. -- PFHLai 12:28, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Huh? Why are you trying to delete a new article on a real organization?!?

Huh? Why are you trying to delete a new article on a real organization? The Shefa Network has several hundred members, they have their own journal, their own website, they have alreayd had two major conferences, and two more conferences are planned. On what possible grounds are you trying to delete an article that you haven't even read, on a group that you havent even researched? Have you even bothered to meet with anyone from this group, or read its academic journal, or been to its conferences? RK 13:41, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:NPA violations

I have removed your personal attack against User:RK from Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shefa Network, but have left your dismissive remark regarding him in your vote comment itself. I recommend you remove it yourself, and in the future stick to voting/commenting on the article on AfDs, and limiting your observations about other editors to their user_talk pages. Cheers, Tomertalk 16:37, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Question

Hi, yeah, you seem like someone who knows Wikipedia, would you mind telling me what I click when I want to upload a picture from a web site that releases all rights and allows for the picture to be used anywhere. Thanks. Abreuzinho 21:53, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, I also have another question, what do I do to get the font and color of my name to be look different when I sign my name on a user page? Abreuzinho 01:17, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
Ok one more thing, I've been editing this page Kerlon Moura Souza, and I have a question, why won't that box appear like on other articles (the box that has the names of the sections of the artcicles)?
Why can't I create the "|" pipe I've been pressing (SHIFT + BACKSLASH) but it doesn't work?

[edit] Libellous libel accusations

I'd appreciate it if you were slightly more restrained in your use of the term 'libel', for example as you used it here. It is a fairly serious accusation, and, (alongside calling a Reuters-backed claim 'obviously false') could all too easily be taken the wrong way. --Sam Pointon 00:29, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] KingKaufman
