The NSB El 9 was an electric locomotive used by NSB Norwegian state railways to pull trains on the branch lines Flåmsbana and the now closed Hardangerbana. They were built in 1944 by Thune and Norsk Elektrisk & Brown Boveri. Wartime sabotage against the transformers on the line delayed the El 9's entry until 1947. They were replaced in 1984 by NSB El 11 locomotives and BM69 multiple units . They remained in service as shunters until 1989 when they were finally withdrawn from service.
There were three engines built, numbered 9 2062 to 9 2064. At Flåm, the engine 9 2063 is preserved and displayed at the station while 9 2064 is preserved by the railway museum Rjukanbanen .
