Newgrounds is a website that hosts Adobe Flash animations, flash games, and MP3 music. It was created and is currently owned by Tom Fulp. It allows its users to submit their own Flash movies and games and to view submissions from other users. The site now has over 1 million members and over 85,000 submissions.
Newgrounds also allows users to rate and review other users' submissions. Submissions can be rated on a scale of 0 to 5 and are removed if their average rating falls below a certain level. This process of removal is known as blamming.
Newgrounds has been the starting point of, or has helped spread many memes. The Numa Numa meme was initiated on this site, for example.
