Full name: 3-dihydroxy-6-nitro-7-sulfamoyl-benzo(f)quinoxaline Brown/Red powder. Disodium salt version can be dissolved in water at higher concentrations (<30mM).
Blocks AMPA receptors in micromolar concentrations (~10-20uM) and also kainate receptors
Its correct name is 2,3-dihydroxy-6-nitro-7-sulfamoyl-benzo(f)-quinoxaline-2,3-dione. In experiments it is used to counter glutamate excitotoxicity. (Nat.Med. 6(1), 67-70, Jan 2000)
