Millennium High School is a public high school located at 75 Broad Street in New York City. The high school is located on the 11, 12, and 13th floors of the former ITT building, 2 blocks south of the New York Stock Exchange.
Millennium High School is a part of the New York City Department of Education.
The school was created with several million dollars' worth of grants from the federal government in 2003. This was seen as an attempt to revitalize the lower Manhattan area following the September 11, 2001 attacks.
The school is mainly an academic-based school with no specialized area of study, despite being considered an alternative high school. It offers a new Bio-Chemistry program which was developed in 2002 in order to help reform the public education system.
The student body is of small size for a New York public high school; there are around 500 people, with 125 people in each grade, and four full grades attending the school.
