Michael Savoia, Jr. (born ?), better known by his stage name Mikie Da Poet, is a underground rapper.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois. A way to describe his positive rapping would be a mix of Tupac, John Lennon, Eminem and Marvin Gaye. He is produced and signed to Hogetta Productions. He is currently writing his 5th album, currently untitled.

Mikie records in JBG Audio Services studio headed by Jim Godsey. Mikie got into the rap lifestyle when he was 7 years old playing on the basketball court. He was always respected and given more attention from the African Americans than the Caucasian kids. He had a cocky attitude and a crazy hustle on the court. At the age of 10, he was a ball-boy for the Chicago Express, who Michael Jordan's older brother, Larry, played for. Michael ended up breaking his foot and had some time off. He would come to Larry's games and try and motivate the team. He listened to way he talked and the things he said. Sitting with Michael Jordan and listening to him talk and shooting around and hanging with a man like that started his fire. At the age of 12 he took his game to Cabrini Green, which was one of the worst projects in the world. He was in there during the movie Heaven Is A Playground, and when they dropped the Rodney King verdict, he was lucky to be alive. He was seeking something besides basketball and didnt know what is was. Mikie walked places he didn't belong and thought what everyone said about white and black wasn't right. His parents never knew were he was at, and he was well working at the Rosemont Horizon. He became a house hold face and met all the stars daily, mostly singers and rock bands, but it felt good. He had gotten kicked out of 23 schools before his freshman year of high school which he never finished. Mikie was a kid with a dream that he couldnt figure out, untill one day at the age of 14 I started writing poems. He was inspired greatly by Tupac's "Dear Mama". Mikie figured out that it was his words that opened all the doors for him. He wanted to put all of his thoughts into albums. At first he claims it was very hard. He sounded like a "winey moron". But then he was introduced to a man called DX 2000 a.k.a. Fate, who started working with him. Little did Mikie know that he was a legend from Chicago and one of the greatest writers ever to live.

Mikie was excited his album sold, so he was doing 3-5 shows every week, and he met G-Zus of the Soldierz At War from West Madison, and at those shows he felt his game go to a new level. Mikie continued to work and did a few indi movies and acted the role of psychos. He then completed his second album Sanctioned. A lot of people started hating on him, wanting money that wasn't there or just a little scared that he got so good so fast. Then he was working with a rapper, Diamond, that he could never explain his style and poetry, my life, on the Sanctioned album has him featured. He went on to work with Psyde Effect of Psycho Drama and did the song "80 Down The Skyway" and "My Baby's Mama" with Teefa from 107.5. Then he closed Fox News national 4 platinum selling do or die. Johnny P, was asked to be a special guest at the House of Blues for Bone Thugs N Harmony. He was featured on the Monsterz Of The Midway doubt cd with Twista, Bone, Drama Ward, Triple Darkness, Crash Man, DX 2000, Kanye West, DMX, and more. He was shocked to be on that album, but still with all the talent that surrounded him he still couldnt find my style. So he went on to record his 3rd album self-named Mikie Da Poet, that can be found on all digital sites (iTunes, Rhapsody, CD Baby, Yahoo, etc.) He has written and recorded about 150 tracks.

He talked to Kanye West and had him set him up a New York connection. When Mikie got there, he respected that and hooked Mikie up with his boy Devon who showed him around. When he got in New York he ended up at the Copacabana. 50 Cent got bood off stage. Mikie told him to get back out there and finish the song, and we had harsh words that made it out to the street, but he got locked up for pulling a pistol, so he rap battled Nas, but his crew put it to an end. Once when Mikie was one stage, Eminem came through with D-12, and Mikie called him a punk and challenged him to a battle, but he declined the challenge.
