Hi Mig77, Thanks for deleting my list. Also note that wikipedia is not a debating tool. It would be normal to add to any entry about food habits a list of people in history that have followed that food habit. I will put my change back. Your comments about posing "Appeal to authority" is in valid as I am not agruing that being vegi is good nor bad. The post is just stating a history of people that have been veges. Please reply before deleteing.

Hello Mig. Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to reply to your post in the vegetarianism section, so I replied by editing, not adding a comment. I thought you might not see it right away, so this is my reason for re-posting my message to you here. You wanted to discuss whether the HappyCow site was spam or not... Here are some points to consider:

   * It is NOT of a commercial nature
   * It's created by vegans who volunteer their time and are NOT Profiting from the site.
   * Any money generated by ads go directly back into maintaining and improving the site.
   * The site is the foremost updated and current of all vegetarian restaurant / health food store directories.
   * It's an informative website which provides information and education about a broad range of vegetarian issues.
   * It provides carefully selected link resources for a variety of vegetarian and vegan topics.
   * Of the other sites listed, all also contain Google ads or have something for sale (with the exception of 3: brook.com/veg/,vegparadise.com/protein.html, veggiepride.org)

Mig, curious, do you have some beef with HappyCow or something? There is no reason this excellent resource should not be listed. -Peace. TrueVeg

PS: I am awaiting your advice on this before re-posting in Vegetarianism again. Don't want to start an "edit-war"- the world has enough war right now!

I have noticed that you have moved the Bahá'í Faith from Abrahamic religions to other religion - Is this the true position? Are you sure? I ask because there are many article where the Bahai faith is categorised as an Abrahamic faith and I have been promoting this within varies articles!! - Am I wrong to be doing this? Bahá'í Faith is most definately not Abrahamic. It is not derived from the Judeo-Christian-Islamic faiths. It holds all faiths to be true, so to characterise it as Abrahamic is wrong. It would then also have to be classified as Dharmic, and Buddist. Read the Bahá'í article and it will become clear. If you disagree we can have a good debate ;). Good work on Sikhism generaly, that belief system seems to be sorely neglected. Please concentrate on this area, there are many Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Athiests, and Bahá'í's to patrol thier own stomping grounds, but you are the first Sikh I've met around here. --Mig77^(t) 13:18, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your kind words and support. I am no expert on the Bahá'í Faith and so will be guided by others who have a good understanding of this faith. Sikhism is the faith that I am more qualified to have a discussion on. I agree that this faith system has been under-represented here - hopefully that will change slowly as more Sikhs begin to take an interest in this Wiki. Got your message on my user page regarding the "Baha'i and Abrahmic" matter and I am glad we don't have any further disagreement about this categorization. Also I would like to say that Monotheistic/Polytheistic divide would not work as at least Sikhism unlike Hinduism is monotheistic rather than polytheistic - but Sikhism is very Dharmic like Hinduism. So, I think now that the Baha'i faith has settled into its correct grouping, we should leave these categories intact as it makes sense to divide the religions along these lines into say 5 or less groups rather than deal with 20 or more individual religions. The article List of religions clearly makes this division and the benefits seem very apparent from just looking at the long list of religions in each of these groupings --Hari Singh 12:30, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Pl. do not mention thanks. I did it for my self satisfaction. I have heard this during spiritual discourses and can't provide refs. However, we can observe ourselves and note that we drink water by lips. You can check up with people who have cows, buffaloes and horses and make sure that they do not eat flesh. This is my belief. I have heard that animals are also fed by food made out of abattoir blood. I do not know whether cow, horse or buffalo do not accept such food or not? Swadhyayee 07:56, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
