Michelle L'amour is an American neo-burlesque performer. In 2006 alone, she performed her signature stripteases for more than 40 million people via NBC's America's Got Talent, Showtime's "Sexual Healing", two foreign documentaries, international performances from Canada to Brazil and much more. With the tagline "The Ass That Goes POW!", she has spawned a movement in derriere appreciation through many fansites, specialty products (The Michelle L'amour Signature Fanny Facial) and a Canadian documentary called "What a Booty".

Unlike many of her peers, Michelle goes far beyond the specific boundaries of "burlesque". Michelle L'amour began a dancing career later than normal for a professional. She began studying ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern and lyrical at the age of 15. Taking to it naturally, she began teaching a mere 2 years later.

During her college career as a finance major, she began to realize her actual dreams of becoming a world renowned dancer. Weeks before graduation she turned down all the job offers in the banking world and began choreographing for a rock-n-roll revue and developing what would later be her burlesque troupe Lavender (later named The Lavender Cabaret).

Her short but stellar career as a burlesque prodigy garnered world-wide recognition as she took the title of Miss Exotic World 2005 after just 3 years as a burlesque dancer. (The Miss Exotic World Pageant is akin to the Miss America of burlesque).

Around that time she began teaching burlesque, travelling the world as on the premiere stars of the artform and making celebrity appearances. Within the first 2 years as a teacher, she had already taught her patented moves to well over 1000 women.

As of this writing, she has appeared on numerous television programs, including Fox's "A Current Affair", STAR Network (Canada) "Everything...", MSNBC's "The Situation with Tucker Carlson"*, Showtime's "Sexual Healing" and NBC's "America's Got Talent".

After a 14 year career as a political pundit on television, known for his conservative views and fashion-free bowtie Tucker Carlson did the unthinkable. After Michelle performed a striptease on his national news magazine show, he decided to rid himself of the bowtie forever. He no longer wears it. When asked why on his show, he showed footage of him taking it off during a "hot and bothered" moment while watching Ms. L'amour do her thing. ^{[citation needed]}

After a performance in 2002, a woman in the audience was so moved that she threw her undergarments on the stage (much like one would at an Elvis concert). This started a trend which has become a staple at Michelle L'amour performances. In fact, Michelle has started donating money to various charitable organizations for every female's undergarment collected after her performance.

L'amour has performed her striptease for more people than any burlesque dancer in history. (More than 40 million based on theater performances, personal appearances and her television appearances on NBC, Showtime, MSNBC, Fox and local Chicago news programs)
