Detective Megan Wheeler is a fictional character portrayed by Julianne Nicholson on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She replaced Carolyn Barek, played by Annabella Sciorra. Having transferred in with her captain and mentor, Danny Ross, Wheeler is a detective in the Major Case squad. She will work alongside Detective Mike Logan. She is said to balance Logan's approach of asking "Who?, What?, and Where?" by asking the question Why?. She is also more politically correct and prone to following the rules than her partner.
During an investigation, Wheeler recalled how her mother had to become a waitress to support both of them when Wheeler's father abandoned them.
Nicholson previously portrayed Assistant District Attorney Christina Finn on the now defunct Law & Order spin-off, Conviction and an one-time character on "All My Children", an episode of the original Law & Order.
