Matt Morrison

Matt "Starman" Morrison (born June 20, 1978) is an American graphic literature critic, essayist and actor. Matt Morrison is one of the most prolific, and certainly one of the longest working critics in the field of Internet Criticism having written non-stop for several on-line periodicals since 1999, including Fanzing, 411 Wrestling and 411 Mania. Matt Morrison was also one of the main writers of the short-lived web comic 144 Anima. He currently writes a weekly column, Looking To The Stars, which is published by ComicsNexus.com.
Morrison is famed for his outspoken opinions, his "talking with the reader" columns and his surreal "talking with the editor" reviews.

Although a life-long fan of the superhero genre, Matt Morrison did not start reading comics until 1998, after stumbling across an issue of Green Lantern depicting a hero that looked nothing like the Green Lantern, Morrison had been a fan of in his youth. This discovery sent Matt down the path of fandom seeking answers and within a year he was writing short parodies and articles for Fanzing - a monthly web-based periodical devoted to DC Comics discussion, fanart and fanfic. His first article was published in April of 1999 and within a year, he had his own monthly column - The Mount.
Morrison continued to write The Mount and other pieces for Fanzing until December of 2002. Fanzing shut itself down, due to increasing bandwidth costs. He was picked up almost immediately by Ben Morse, an editor for 411 Wrestling, to write a weekly column for a comics section Morse was starting in an effort to branch his site into new circles of fandom.
The experiment proved to be a success and soon 411 Wrestling expanded into 411 Mania. Morrison continued to write his weekly column, Looking to the Stars, for 411 Mania through a management change after Morse left to take a position with Wizard Magazine. It was during this time in early 2004 that Morrison and new editor Daron Kappauff came up with the basis for the web-comic 144 Anima. Shortly thereafter in 2005, Morrison joined most of the writing/editorial team of the comics section of 411 Mania to form a new Internet-based magazine, Comics Nexus, whom he writes for to this day.

Matt Morrison's nickname, Starman, comes from his apparent resemblance, in terms of personality, to Jack Knight - the sarcastic junk-shop owner turned superhero from the [DC Comics] comic book Starman.
As a teen, he co-authored multiple issues of the BBS comedy series "The Story From Hell" with a number of other writers, including Something Positive writer/artist R. K. Milholland
He is the basis for character of Number One Monkey from 144 Anima.
He is credited with having single-handedly increased the number of website hits to 411 Wrestling five-fold after Scott Kurtz linked to his negative review of PvP.
Matt Morrison is a member of the nationally acclaimed acting troupe Los Bastardos, which does weekly performances of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in Fort Worth, Texas. He is the Head Floorwalker and Co-Master of Ceremonies for the troupe. He also plays the parts of Riff Raff, Dr. Scott and The Criminologist.

Can not take responsibility for increasing traffic to 411 Wrestling. It was Scott Kurtz's link that provided the traffic, not Matt. In reality, does not remotely resemble Starman from the comics. Has no real press credentials, is not a literary critic of any renown at all.
