Masca is a small mountain village located in Buenavista del Norte on a small mountain road named Masca, it is home to around 150 inhabitants. The village are in the Teno mountains ranging from 600 to 800 m and extends up to the northwestermost point on Tenerife. The village in the 1960s was accessed only by paths and were unaccessible by roads. The middle point of this place features a small square (plaza) and a small church.
The high mountains surround the tiny village and a small peak near the centre, Forests dominate near the areas and includes plants, cypresses and palm trees. The rocks and forests and a slope ogf about 70° to 75° angle lies westward. Farming cultivations includes potatoes and wheats and also fruits and vegetables in small quantities. The village has a sufficient water supply and plants are green.
The village was also an area that pirates never attacked. The Atlantic Ocean lies several kilometres northwest.
The housing designs are two-stories and are built on the mountain slopes and are very remarkable. The covers are not used inside. Some of the homes are abandoned. Much of its inhabitants left for larger towns and cities on and on other islands and to Spain.
