The line between Glasgow & Westerton forms a part of the West Highland Line and was re-opened to stopping passenger services in 1993. In 2005 it was extended to Anniesland via a new station at Kelvindale in the north west of the city.
The route serves the following places:
- Glasgow Queen Street
- Ashfield
- Possilpark and Parkhouse
- Gilshochill
- Summerston
- Maryhill
Line branches to either Westerton or Anniesland (via Kelvindale).
or
- Westerton (peak times only)
Maryhill Line services connect with the Argyle and North Clyde Lines at both Anniesland and Westerton stations. In addition, the West Highland Line sleeper service from Fort William to London Euston via Edinburgh connects with a service from Westerton to Glasgow Queen Street. This allows day passengers to use the sleeper service to reach Glasgow.
The line is not electrified. Passenger services are operated by First ScotRail.
