Marilyn Ware

Marilyn Ware is the current U.S. ambassador to Finland. George W. Bush nominated her to this post on 27 October 2005. She is also the honorary chairman of American Water Works and president of Ware Family Offices.
Ware has been closely involved in the U.S. water sector, and was Chairman of the Board of the American Water Works Company from 1988-2003. She was also the Honorary President of WaterAid America, an international charity for safe domestic water, sanitation systems and hygiene education in fifteen countries. Ware is a lifetime advocate of farmland and open space preservation, assistance for abused families and early childhood education and care.
She is the parent of three adult children.
