Mandurriao Airport (IATA: ILO, ICAO: RPVI) is the fourth busiest airport in the Philippines, serving the general area of Iloilo City and in turn the province of Iloilo. Excluding international airports, Mandurriao Airport is the busiest airport in the country (with international airports included, this airport is the fourth-busiest airport nationwide). Major Philippine airlines have an average of 4 flights daily from other major cities to this airport. The airport takes its name from its location in Iloilo City's Mandurriao district.
Mandurriao Airport is one of nine trunkline airports in the Philippines and is the busiest of all of them. Construction of a new international airport to sustain the emerging economic development in Iloilo City and the general area of the province of Iloilo is currently underway in the town of Santa Barbara. The current airport in Mandurriao is dilapidated and is not capable of any further expansion. Once the new airport (which is being built to international standards) is completed, all flights will be diverted to this new airport. The new airport is expecting conclusion by January 2007 and will enter operation in 2008.
