Magellan Aerospace (TSX: MAL) is a Canadian manufacturer of advanced aerospace systems and components. Magellan also repairs and overhauls, tests, and provides aftermarket support services for a variety of engines, and engine structural components. The company's integrated business units are divided into these product areas: aeroengines, aerostructures, rockets and space, and specialty products. Its corporate offices in Mississauga, Ontario, Magellan operates in facilities throughout Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Magellan formed in 1996 from the remains of Fleet Industries, a subsidiary of the US-based Fleet Aerospace located in Fort Erie, Ontario. They produced a number of products and services for the Canadian military, as well as considerable amounts of subassembly for various aviation companies.
Through the 1990s, Magellan aggressively expanded its portfolio, buying a number of Canadian aviation companies. These included Orenda Engines in Toronto, Bristol Aerospace of Winnipeg, Chicopee Manufacturing in Kitchener, Ontario and Haley Industries. Several US companies were also added, including Aeronca (formerly part of the US-based portions of Fleet), AMBEL Precision Manufacturing, Ellanef Manufacturing, Middleton Aerospace and Presto Casting. They also purchased the assets of Mayflower Aerospace in England, becoming Magellan Aerospace UK in 2003.
Through their Orenda division, Magellan attempted to bring a new 600hp general aviation engine to market, the Orenda OE600. This engine had originally been designed in the US and known as the "Thunder Engine", but funding ran out before it could be certified. Orenda took over the certification process, also introducing supplemental type certificate conversions of aircraft powered by the famous Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 turboprop, starting with the de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver with plans to add the King Air and others. Timing proved poor, and in the post-9/11 market the company put the OE600 "on hold" while they concentrated on military contracts.
A series of labour-related problems culminated in a four month strike at the original Fleet factories in Fort Erie, which were closed in 2003.
