Mădăraş, Bihor

Mădăraş (Hungarian: Madarász; Slovak: Madaras) is a four village-commune in Bihor County, Romania, 3 km away from Salonta, located nearby the Hungarian border - on the European road E671, and the Körös River canal. In 2002, it had 3,024 inhabitants. The Székely-inhabited villages of Csíkmadaras in Harghita County and Mezőmadaras in Mureş County are also called Mădăraş in Romanian.
It comprises the village of Homorog, and its Romanian Orthodox church - built in the 1830s, it is decorated with a valuable mural from the 1840s.
