Lord Charles Wellesley

Major-General Lord Charles Wellesley (January 16, 1808 - October 9, 1858) was a British politician and courtier.
His parents were Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington and The Honourable Catherine Sarah Dorothea Pakenham, daughter of Edward Michael Pakenham, 2nd Baron Longford. He married Augusta Sophia Anne Pierrepont, daughter of The Right Honourable Henry Manvers Pierrepont, on July 9, 1844.
He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for South Hampshire from 1842 to 1852, and the MP for Windsor from 1852 to 1855. He was also a Chief Equerry and Clerk Marshall to Queen Victoria.
He had six children:
- Lady Victoria Alexandrina Wellesley (d. 1933), granted the rank of a duke's daughter in 1884.
- Lady Mary Angela Wellesley (d. 1936), granted the rank of a duke's daughter in 1884.
- Georgina Wellesley (d. 1880)
- Arthur Wellesley (1845-1846)
- Henry Wellesley, 3rd Duke of Wellington (1846-1900)
- Arthur Charles Wellesley, 4th Duke of Wellington (1849-1934), granted the rank of a duke's younger son in 1884.
