London Buses route 91 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, United Kingdom. The service is currently contracted to First London.
[edit] 1949-1991
The old route 91 dates back to 1949, operating from Wandsworth Bridge, then via Hammersmith, Turnham Green, Osterley, and Hounslow West, before terminating at Cranford. Three years later, it was extended to London Airport (now known as Heathrow Airport), before being cut back to Hounslow West after 9 years. In 1971, it was converted from an RT route to one-person single deck operation, before soon recieving DMS's. These soon gave way to MCW Metrobuses in 1979. In 1991, it was withdrawn, in favour of new routes H91 and 391.

Today's route 91 commenced on October 10th 1992, as a re-numbering (and replacement)of route 14A. MTL London operated the route from Holloway garage, with MCW Metrobuses. In 1997, the route was then awarded to Capital Citybus, now part First London, and new Volvo Olympians were ordered. 2002 saw new TNs (Trident 2/Plaxton President (as well as existing TNs, cascaded from other garages) convert the route to low-floor operation.
