I dispute some of the entries just added to the 1960s section. Certainly all of those people were popular in the 60s, but were they all teen idols? Did James Brown ever make it to the cover of Teen Beat magazine or have teenage girls screaming his name? I think we need to be clear on the definition of teen idols - and I don't think all of the just-added names in the 60s section qualify. Thoughts? Moncrief 07:18, Apr 7, 2004 (UTC)
I agree. However, many of these names were given to me by my father, who lived during that era, and I figured he knows better than me about teen idols opf the 50s and 60s Antonio Tiger Beat Cover Martin
Well, I find the criteria a bit vague. Can you be a bit more specific? Can famous teenagers from -say- Germany or the United Kingdom be included if they are highly popular? -MGM 07:33, Apr 20, 2004 (UTC)
I added Kristy McNichol and Mackenzie Phillips. I wasn't sure about adding Kristy's brother, Jimmy, though. After Kristy got really famous on Family, she and her brother formed a popular singing duo called Kristy & Jimmy McNichol. Mike H 23:09, Jul 17, 2004 (UTC)

I just added some international celebrities in the 90's and 2000's section, is it OK that if I add Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Mexican and Russian teen idols?

I think Dakota Fanning and Jamie Lynn Spears would be popular in 2010's.

I added some bands like Slipknot and skaters like Tony Hawk and Bam; because they are super popular in Ohio with teens.

to List of teen idols of the 2000's, it's getting long and can easily be sorted into its own TOC.

Some of these names are a little fanciful. Wil Wheaton? As it says in his article, he is a geek icon - that, I'd have to agree with. If Wil Wheaton was mobbed, he was mobbed by Star Trek fanswanting to know about the show, not him. This really is another of those lists where you can whack any old name in without verifying it. Would it be possible for those contributors who feel that this is an important and significant article consider the suitability of some of the names on the list?
