This is an episode list for the crime drama The Sopranos. The series began airing on HBO on January 10, 1999 in the United States with the pilot episode of the same name, and is currently in its sixth and final season. The episode total to date is 77. There is expected to be a final total of 85 episodes when the show concludes. Each season spans 13 episodes with the exception of Season 6, which will number 20 episodes upon completion.

As with Sex and the City, HBO split the final season of The Sopranos into two parts: Part 1, which ran from March to June 2006, consisted of 12 episodes; and Part 2, which is slated to run in March 2007, will consist of 8 episodes.[1]

When they find that the owner of the trucks pays Junior for protection, their drug addictions prevent them from respecting Junior's orders to stop. Carmela asks Tony for a favor involving A.J.'s science teacher's stolen car. Livia is moved into a retirement community against her wishes after accidentally setting her kitchen on fire.

The prozac Dr. Melfi prescribed Tony begins taking a negative toll on his libido, though his recurring dreams lead him to become attracted to her.

A.J. is punished by being forced to visit his grandmother, Livia, on a daily basis for three weeks; and he was unaware that his father's ongoing therapy was a secret.

The Lupertazzi Crime Family goes on the lam to avoid possible indicments from the FBI. Tony and his crew, though not including Christopher, are named as possible subjects in a grand jury investigation. Christopher is depressed by his exclusion; he has nightmares, and unsuccessfully tries to shift his focus by writing a screenplay. However, he gets a new lease on life after appearing in a newspaper. Junior learns from Livia that Tony is seeing a psychiatrist.

Parents are shocked when Meadow's soccer coach molests a female student. The police arrest the rapist before Tony can get to him, which gives him a totally unexpected feeling of relief. Gossip reaches Tony regarding Junior's sexual secrets. Junior is humiliated when Tony makes open references to them, and Roberta, Junior's girlfriend, promptly becomes his ex-girlfriend.

According to the suggestions of Dr. Melfi and Carmela, Tony attempts to be more social by getting to know some of his neighbors better. Christopher and his girlfriend Adriana La Cerva befriend aspiring rapper Massive Genius. Christopher agrees to help Adriana produce a demo for a band, though one of its members is an ex-boyfriend of Adriana. Massive Genius threatens to sue Hesh for supposedly stolen music royalties.

According to a tip from Vin Makazian, one of Tony's most trusted friends, Sal "Pussy" Bonpensiero is a rat. Before getting any futher confirmation, Makazian commits suicide. Tony has Paulie Walnuts keep an eye on Pussy. Even though he suddenly disappears, Tony's focus is shifted when Jimmy Altieri is positively discovered to be a rat. After conferring with Livia, Junior and Mikey & Chucky Signore conspire to have Tony killed.

Despite prescriptions for prozac and lithium from Dr. Melfi, Tony falls into chronic depression. Meeting a beautiful Italian exchange student, who is staying at the Cusamanos', lifts his spirits. Junior's plan to have Tony killed is put into action. The FBI pay a visit to the Sopranos.

Junior agrees with Tony on the situation with Jimmy Altieri, who is soon killed. Tony finds out that his mother and uncle are plotting to have him killed. He warns Dr. Melfi that her life may be in danger. With help from Christopher, Paulie, and Silvio Dante, Tony has Mikey Palmice and Chucky Signore "taken care of". Tony's friend Artie Bucco re-opens his restaurant, and Livia suffers a life-threatening stroke.
