Linda Clifford

Linda Clifford (b. 1944 in New York) is a well-known R&B and dance singer who scored a number of R&B and disco hits in the 70s and 80s. Clifford is also a former Miss New York State, and fronted a jazz music trio before switching to R&B. In 1979-1980 she almost hit the Hot 100 Top 40 twice - peaking at #41 with "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "Red Light." On the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart she had much better success: hitting #1 eight times. Her most recent dance chart entry was in 2001.
