i grew up in a suburb of minneapolis, minnesota. i went to college at brown university and majored in neuroscience, music, and philosophy, graduating in 2003. currently i'm a grad student at stanford university, in the neurosciences phd program. in my spare time, i enjoy the simpsons, listening to classical and experimental music, playing piano and flute (and trying to learn cello), studying languages, exercise, political/social activism, scrabble, and vegetables.
