[edit] Synopsis
Happy to be single, Raj (Abhishek Bachchan) finds himself urged into marriage by his overzealous uncle (Satish Shah). At the uncle's urging, his secretary Namrata (Aishwarya Rai) takes charge of finding potential love interests for Raj. However, it is soon obvious that Raj has eyes for Namrata, and not her potential brides. He finally gets the strength the tell her but to his shock he meets her son, Aditya.
Confused he decides to forget about her but he forms a strong fatherly relationship with her son. Soon enough, when Namrata finds out about his love for her, she is angry and knows they can never be together. As a last minute effort Raj ends up coming to Aditya's boarding school where Namrata is also. Whilst on the way home, he blames her circumstances on her. Upset, she tells Raj that her husband was the one that left her whilst she was pregnant. Eventually Namrata comes round and they both get together.
Raj wants Namrata to meet his mother, but just as she is about to leave, her husband Sanjeev (Arbaaz Khan) walks back into her life after seven years. He has come back for Namrata and Aditya, but she does not want anything to do with him. Confused, she goes to Raj's house and tells him that Sanjeev has come back. Raj and Sanjeev happen to meet and they go for drinks at his hotel. Namrata ends up there and is ready to leave Sanjeev forever, but Sanjeev mistakes this and thinks Namrata has come back to him. She grudgingly takes him back even though she is still in love with Raj.
Raj invites Sanjeev to his sister's wedding. Aditya also comes and goes straight to Raj and calls him dad. Sanjeev jealous and angry, insults Raj and his family and creates a scene at the wedding. Namrata, finally gets the courage to tell Sanjeev that she is no longer his wife and that she is in love with Raj. Knowing that he has lost his son and wife, Sanjeev leaves and tells Raj to never do what he did or else it would be too late. Raj and Namrata happily get married.
