Folks, I'm really sorry and all but if you ask me a question here, I tend to answer it here, rather than on your talk page - unless you specifically ask me to, of course.

[edit] Template Help
Hello Koveras. I'm looking for some help with creating a new template(s). The purpose of this template would be to facilitate the fleet chart of airline articles. Right now the fleet charts are incredibly unstandarized, despite the fact that the information in them is pretty standard. I put a bunch of effort into designing the United Airlines fleet chart. I'm pretty sure that this chart has the highest level of complexity that would be required. I'd like to make it standardized, but the problem with that is it gets pretty hard to edit through all of the tables. One other "would be nice" feature would be to drive categories into the articles for 737 Operators, A320 Operators, etc. The goal here would be to eventually replace the lists of aircraft operators that are hand maintained. Are you interested in helping me out? Or do you know someone who might be interested? Thank you... —Cliffb 05:37, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- I will help as far as I can, but I really have no clue on the subject of fleet charts. ^_^ However, what I can do is give useful tips and maybe propose a general structure:
-
- The easiest way to create such table (that is, a table with unlimited number of rows) with templates is to start three of them:
- Header template that will include everything from {| to the first data row.
- Footer template that will most likely only include |}.
- Single row template that will have values supplied to it and output them in form of a row.
- However, an extra problem is the presense of multiple "UA Type" values for a single "Type" one. In other words, that "rowspan" thingy messes up the programming quite a bit. However, AFAIU it can also be arranged, though it won't be that simple - I have to think about it. How many "UA Types" can a single "Type" possess maximally? It'd be easier, if I knew, but it's still OK without a limit. :)
- The easiest way to create such table (that is, a table with unlimited number of rows) with templates is to start three of them:
- An first of all I would like to ask, how proficient are you with templates (have you started any, have you ever used conditional ones, etc.) so that my explanations won't be as useful to you as if I was talking in Mandarin. %) --Koveras 10:02, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Missing novels in the Noon Universe
There are not articles for the following novels of the Strugatsky brothers:
- Special assumptions (Частные предположения), outstanding short story set in Noon Universe and tells about the 3rd Interstellar Expedition and it's return. First published in the Six Matches collection of short stories, never been translated and published in English. Some stories of the Six Matches collection may loosely set in Noon Universe but translated only three: The Six Matches, An Emergency Case and Spontaneous Reflex.
- Space Apprentice (Стажёры), amazing, very interesting and a liitle sad novel... is the 3rd book of the Bykov's cycle (the first two are: The Land of Crimson Clouds and The Way to Amalthea) and the last that precede Noon Universe events.
- The Final Circle of Paradise (Хищные вещи века), novel loosely connected to Noon Universe through the main character Ivan Zhilin. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by NERV (talk • contribs) .
- Thank you. :) I'll keep the titles in mind, personally, I've read only "Special assumptions" and that was so long ago that I can only vaguely remember the plot. :( PS: And don't forget to sign your comments. =) --Koveras 12:59, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Exosquad
Koveras,
You are right that the Neosapiens _tell_ Marsala early in the episode that they want him to kidnap Phaeton and that they want to make piece with the Terrans.
However, their true plan becomes clear in the scene later in the episode where Lucullus and Gracchus arrest Livia and take power. They tell Livia that she will be tried and executed for "assassinating" Phaeton. Maybe Marsala was only going to be involved in the "kidnap" part, but the plan is for Phaeton to end up dead.
In that same scene, Lucullus and Gracchus also state that they plan to continue the war. "There can never be peace between a superior race and an inferior one," etc. Galba wanted to make peace, so Lucullus and Gracchus order his arrest. I think the scene makes it clear that the talk of making peace was just a ruse (at least, for Lucullus and Gracchus) to get Marsala to go along with the plan.
This is why I wanted to update the entry... they way it is written reflects the "cover story" the Neo Megas gave Marsala (kidnap Phaeton and make peace), and I thought it would be more accurate to record their true plan (kill Phaeton and continue/win the war).

- Oh, yes, I remember now, sorry. :) But you should have included the explanation about the cover story, too. ^^ --Koveras ☭ 16:50, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
I see you took care of that ;-) Thanks! AidanPalmer 15:37, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks!
Thanks for updating my table in Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. It's great to see another Strugatsky fan! =) Alex Nisnevich 22:47, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
PS It seem the edit counter on your user page is not working. You can use this instead.
- Oh, thanks for the tip, that's exactly what I've been looking for. ^^ As for Strugatsky, there are many fans around here, it's just that I'm historically the most active one (I've started nearly all articles concerning the Noon Universe, for example). So don't think that you are alone. ;) --Koveras ☭ 08:44, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Vanessa Rene.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Vanessa Rene.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:07, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] MADLAX
Hello, fellow MADLAX fan. :) I've noticed you've put following into the template: "Someday, somewhere, anytime, anyplace." Is it a quote I don't recognize? :) More importantly, as you may have noticed, I have recently translated the Russian featured article about MADLAX, and now I'd really like to know your opinion. :) --Koveras ☭ 17:13, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
