Kopperl, Texas

Kopperl (pronounced KOP-er-ul) is an unincorporated town in Bosque County, Texas on the northwestern end of Lake Whitney.
The town is served by the Kopperl Independent School District.
On June 15, 1960, shortly after midnight, a freak storm struck the community for nearly three hours. The temperature was unofficially recorded at 140 degrees Fahrenheit, which would be twenty degrees above the official all-time high for the state of Texas.
