KFOX (AM)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
KFOX 1650AM is a Korean-language AM radio station licensed to Costa Mesa, California, a suburb of Los Angeles.
KFOX was launched in 1997 as KKJZ and was a simulcast of adult standards station KKGO. After several years, KKJZ became "K-Traffic," providing constant traffic updates around the clock, with new reports every 15 minutes.
In 2001, the station went to broadcasting in English to broadcasting in Korean and today is known as "Radio Seoul." KKGO now simulcasts on XESURF-AM 540 kHz, which is licensed to Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
The KFOX call sign was previously used at 93.5FM (now KDAY) and 1280AM (now KFRN). The KKJZ call sign is now at 88.1FM in Long Beach, another L.A. suburb.
