[edit] Newcastle Airport

Hi, I have reverted your edits which turned Newcastle Airport into a disambiguation page. When there are only two terms to disambiguate the normal thing to do is to have a link to the other term at the top of the article, see WP:MOSDAB and WP:DAB for more information. Also when moving a page you must never do a cut'n'paste as this looses the log of who has contributed what - there is explicit functionality to move a page, which may not yet be available to you (account too new), see Help:Moving a page and WP:RM.

However, I don't see any reason to change things from how they currently stand, with the English airport at Newcastle Airport (having a link to the Australian one at the top) and the Australian one at Newcastle Airport (Williamtown).

Thanks/wangi 10:21, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] airport edits

Thankyou for the effort of adding info boxes to RAAF bases. However, it would help reviewing edits if you could please always give an edit smmary stating what you changed (eg "added airport infobox"). Thanks. --Scott Davis Talk 13:01, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ranks of the RAAF

Do the Australian forces really use US rank codes, or are they there for convenience? Becuase if they are there for convenience I suggest you use NATO codes, since it makes comparisons with existing articles (1, 2 and 3) easier. Greentubing 12:12, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Reply Yes they do. You very rarely will see them used, let alone discussed, but if a code is used, these are the ones. I know they are stated in a member's service record. Justinbrett 13:57, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Furthermore, it's no issue at all to compare with NATO ranks. Since the RAF has every rank we have, and they are equal, there should be no need to repeat the information. Justinbrett 14:25, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Navy bases cat

Justin, I deleted Category:Royal Australian Navy Bases and replaced it with Category:Royal Australian Navy bases. I hope this is OK. --Scott Davis Talk 14:19, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: RAAF Pages - Deletion

I was following the Wikipedia policy to delete pages that have little context. Basically those articles I deleted have no content whatsoever, not even a basic description. If you want to develop the page step by step in such early stage, I would suggest you to work on it in your own user subpage, up to an acceptable level and then move it to article namespace again. Hunter 10:45, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

There is content - there is an infobox on each page. It is also a means to navigate the RAAF pages. With all due respect, I would appreciate if you asked members of the project before going about deleting pages. The project is on it and the articles will be of an acceptable length with a week or so. Justinbrett 11:12, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

With such understanding, I'll not further propose deletion on RAAF pages (unless there is still not content on the pages after two weeks or so). Though as the infobox content is very brief and that nobody, by looking only at that, would understand what the page title means. So my recommendation still stands because the same action can still be carried out by other users. Hunter 11:28, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

I feel a reasonably time (10 days) has passed but still no process whatsoever on the page? --Hunter 09:48, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tagging military logos

Hi,

Instead of tagging the military logos with {{logos}}, you should be tagging them with {{logo|Military logos}}. Thanks! Sue Anne 21:55, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] big brother

I didnt write it - It was on Big Brother (Australia) - the new article was split off from there --Astrokey44 06:30, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:List of RAAF Squadrons

Hey. i started this a while ago and finally got around to finishing it today, its a footer for all the squadron pages {{List of RAAF Squadrons}}. I thought it would be a good addition to your RAAF Units Project if you have any suggestions on how to make it better drop me a line. Regards Hossens27 12:19, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Australian military history task force

Just letting you know that the Australian military history task force is now underway, hope you join up. Regards Hossens27 13:16, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging for Image:Angus_Houston.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Angus_Houston.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:37, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blank articles

Thanks for creating some articles. Please note that articles which contain nothing other than a template box and/or no context can be speedily deleted. Consider adding some content to articles you create so that they won't be deleted - creating articles about which you can't write more than a sentence or two is considered a bad idea. Thanks again! [edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:ADF Small.PNG)

Thanks for uploading Image:ADF Small.PNG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Durin 17:08, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
