James Ross Strait

The James Ross Strait is a channel between King William Island and the Boothia Peninsula in the Canadian province of Nunavut. It is named after polar explorer James Clark Ross. It connects McClintock Channel to the Rae Strait to the south.
A number of polar explorers searching for the Northwest Passage sailed through the strait, including John Franklin and Roald Amundsen.
Islands in the channel include the Clarence Islands, Tennent Islands, Beverley Island, and Matty Island.
