J. A. Kemp & Co.

J.A. Kemp & Co. is a British firm of patent and trade mark attorneys, based in Gray's Inn, London and with offices in Oxford and Munich, Germany.
The firm has a strong reputation, particularly in the fields of electronics, software patents and biotechnology. In particular, their successful handling of the VICOM case before the Board of Appeal of the European Patent Office (Decision T208/84 - Image processing) opened the door to software protection before the EPO and for many years established both the boundaries of what was patentable and the style of claim needed.
